Shifting and Steering Operations

The all-new Tesla Model 3 adopts an innovative design, completing shifting by sliding on the smart screen. Frankly, I find this design not only impractical but also poses safety risks. Forcing users to change their operating habits may lead to potential safety issues. Although some may argue that one can adapt over time, I believe this is not addressing the root of the problem. We should pay more attention to logic and safety. Take skydiving as an example; opening a parachute is typically done by pulling a cord. If, during a jump, one had to touch a touchscreen to press a button to open the parachute, would that be considered safe? Additionally, the mode of adjusting the turn signal has shifted from the traditional gear lever to a more intricate button, which is both inconvenient and unsafe. Another complaint worth mentioning is that the car emblem on the steering wheel has been omitted, clearly a cost-cutting measure.

Driving and Riding Experience

The in-car sound insulation has significantly improved, though the improvement may not be colossal, it is noticeable compared to the older model. The chassis has become more comfortable, and the enhancement in comfort has not compromised the handling. Within this price range, its handling still stands out. If you are a pure enthusiast with a passion for driving, it remains a vehicle worth considering.

However, the design of the rear seats presents some issues. Honestly speaking, the comfort of the rear seats is notably poor, and finding a comfortable seating position is challenging due to the overly upright backrest angle. Additionally, the lower position of the rear screen requires passengers to look down, causing a potential sensation of dizziness or discomfort, even with simple adjustments such as air conditioning. Therefore, for features like video playback, this design appears to be rather lackluster.

Range

Let’s test the range again. The estimated mileage is 422 kilometers, with the air conditioning set at 23 degrees. After the journey, the final result is 410 kilometers with an average energy consumption of 13.4. I am quite satisfied with this result, especially considering that part of the test involved driving on the Beijing Ring Road at speeds ranging from 80 to 100. Therefore, if you use this car for city commuting, it can easily achieve a range of over 420 kilometers.

Conclusion

In summary, if you are someone who loves driving and has high demands for handling, you may consider this car. Among models in the same price range, it indeed stands out in terms of driving experience. However, if you can wait a bit longer, I believe the price of this car might decrease. In my opinion, a price just above 20,000 would better align with its actual value.

If your primary use is for family purposes, especially if you are already married with children, I think an SUV in the same price range may be more suitable for you. These 800-volt electric cars, whether in terms of space configuration, range, or charging, are generally more powerful than this model.
