On April 15th, the official launch of the Galaxy E8 Longteng Edition took place. This edition offers two different models with prices of 165,800 yuan and 215,800 yuan respectively.
Additionally, customers who purchase any Galaxy E8 model until the end of April can avail themselves of various time-limited benefits. These benefits encompass a 2,000 yuan discount that can be extended to 7,000 yuan, a 6,000 yuan upgrade gift, as well as incentives for trade-in, finance, warranty, data, and delivery.
The high-end model offers optional features such as 20-inch wheels, 6-way power-adjustable front passenger seat, and front seat massage function. Other configurations remain consistent with the previous top-level version (620km Starship Performance Edition). The most notable feature of this car is that it brings the 800V+ electric four-wheel drive system to the 210,000 yuan price range, with a comprehensive system power of 475 kW and a torque of 710 Nm. It can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 3.49 seconds and replenish 180 km of range in 5 minutes. Charging from 10% to 80% only takes 18 minutes.
On December 12, 2023, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology made an announcement regarding the list of new energy vehicle models exempt from vehicle purchase tax, known as the 72nd batch. The list included the Geely Galaxy E8 as one of the models.
After the announcement, Geely officially launched the Galaxy E8 on January 5, 2024, and immediately started delivering the vehicles. They introduced the vehicle with a starting price of 175,800 yuan.
Introduction to Geely Galaxy E8
The dimensions of the Galaxy E8 are 5010/1920/1465 mm, with a wheelbase of 2925 mm. The design incorporates a large number of Chinese cultural elements, and the exterior adopts the “ripple aesthetic” design. The vehicle has a coefficient of aerodynamic drag of only 0.199. The interior features a suspended three-tank Yin Yue sound system design, achieving a fusion of technology and culture.
With the world’s first 45-inch 8K borderless smart screen, Qualcomm Snapdragon 8295 flagship cockpit chip, Galaxy N OS-Unbounded Edition vehicle system, and Star Rui AI large model, the Geely Galaxy E8 creates an interactive and immersive “Galaxy Unbounded Smart Cockpit.” Users can “travel” across multiple scenario applications such as the “Space Sleep Cabin” and AI Music Rhythm Desktop with the Galaxy crystal knob inside the car. The Galaxy E8 comes equipped with Flyme Link and the exclusive “Companion Drone,” which enables users to capture and share real-time footage on the vehicle’s large screen.
In terms of safety, the Galaxy E8 comes with standard features such as a “Ten-Grid” battery collision structure, aerodynamic aluminum alloy “H-shaped” front anti-collision beam, integrated boron steel door ring, 1500 MPa four-layer A-pillar with dragonfly power transmission structure. It also includes passenger leapfrog airbags, Shield Battery Safety System, and Battery Management System BMS 3.0.
In terms of power, the Galaxy E8 offers two models with 400V and 800V systems, and the longest range can reach up to 665 kilometers.
